Why this app exists

Hi, I'm Leon 👋

I built Slate because I kept paying for things with the wrong card.

I had an Amex Gold, a Chase Sapphire, and a couple others — genuinely great rewards cards. But every time I went to pay for something, I just grabbed whatever was on top of my wallet. I was leaving money on the table at every meal, every gas station, every flight.

So I built Slate with one goal in mind: just tell me which card to use. Open the app, tap what you're buying, and it gives you the answer in one second. No accounts, no bank linking, no math.

I really hope it saves you as much money as it's saved me :)
